Partizan, what are you up to?

Three wins from three games, including two on the road, have made Joan Peñarroya’s team one of this EuroLeague season’s early surprises.

Partizan’s opening run becomes more significant when placed in context. A difficult previous season, extensive roster changes and a team trying to establish consistency under Joan Peñarroya. Their first performances are already providing some interesting answers.

A 92-76 win over Milan was followed by a 92-79 victory in Paris and an 86-84 success in Munich. Partizan have therefore built their perfect record with two of their opening three games away from Belgrade. They have already shown they can win beyond their home court.

The clearest example came against Bayern. Partizan trailed by 13 shortly before the end of the third quarter, then scored 29 points in the fourth to turn the game around. Carlik Jones delivered 12 of his 16 points in that final period, while Tonye Jekiri finished with 17.

One detail connects all three wins. Add up the fourth quarters and Partizan have outscored their opponents 83-53. It is a small sample, but it suggests a team that is finding solutions late in games and has responded when the outcome is still in the balance.

Jones is a central figure, as his 20 points and 10 assists in the opener demonstrated. Luca Vildoza added 16 points in Paris, and Jekiri carried a significant share of the scoring in Munich. Those different contributions around the main creator add another reason to watch Peñarroya’s team closely.

The 3-0 start brings wins, confidence and room to keep working. Their staying power will be tested as opponents adjust and the schedule becomes more demanding. For now, Partizan have given us a good reason to pay attention to what comes next. The way they are winning makes this opening run even more intriguing.
