Kendrick Nunn, the record breaker, is back!

Kendrick Nunn / Eurokinissi

Kendrick Nunn scored 33 points as Panathinaikos beat Real Madrid 115–112 in overtime. His 23-point fourth quarter set a EuroLeague record, nearly two years after he hit seven threes in a single quarter against Olimpia Milan.

In December 2024, the OAKA crowd watched Kendrick Nunn score 21 points before the end of the first quarter. In Madrid, he had eight through three. Then Real went up 87–84 and Panathinaikos got the Nunn it remembered from that night in Athens.

Thirteen straight after Madrid went ahead

Nunn tied the game with a three-point play, then scored every Panathinaikos point until the visitors led 97–90. He put up 13 straight points for his team in less than four minutes, including a four-point play. When Madrid tied it at 99, Nunn hit two free throws with seven seconds left. Andrés Feliz forced overtime with a layup, and Nunn tied it again at 105 from the line before Mathias Lessort scored five points to help close out the win.

Nunn finished with 33 points in 23:42, shooting 8-for-8 on twos, 3-for-5 from deep and 8-for-8 from the line. He scored 23 of Panathinaikos’ 27 fourth-quarter points, surpassing the 22 Jared Butler scored for Crvena Zvezda against Partizan in December 2025. It was the highest-scoring fourth quarter by a player since the EuroLeague began keeping detailed quarter-by-quarter data in 2007–08. It also broke Nunn’s own Panathinaikos record for points in a quarter.

From the Milan game to Madrid

On December 17, 2024, in a 103–74 win over Olimpia Milan, Nunn scored 21 points on 7-for-8 three-point shooting in the first quarter. The seven threes set a EuroLeague record for a quarter. His 21 points were a first-quarter record and tied Toney Douglas’ mark for any quarter. Nunn finished with 39 points and eight threes on 16 attempts, both EuroLeague career highs at the time.

Carsen Edwards took both single-quarter records in April 2025, scoring 26 points and hitting eight threes in the third quarter for Bayern Munich against Maccabi Tel Aviv. Nunn’s 23 in Madrid rank second in any quarter since 2007–08. In Athens, his shooting helped turn the game into a blowout. In Madrid, Panathinaikos needed every one of those points to stay in it.
