The Stoiximan AegeanBall Festival has grown into one of Europe’s premier 3×3 basketball events, bringing together professional players, rising stars and basketball fans from around the world every summer on the island of Syros. Organized by Greek basketball legend Giorgos Printezis, the festival has become a celebration of the sport, attracting huge crowds year after year. This year’s edition welcomed more than 700 participants, highlighting the tournament’s ever-growing popularity and impact.
Speaking to SKWEEK, Printezis was asked whether he sees the festival expanding beyond Greece in the future. The former EuroLeague star admitted it is a possibility, explaining that the popularity of 3×3 basketball and the unique format of the game make such an idea realistic. He also emphasized the incredible enthusiasm of young players, revealing that this year’s event attracted around 700 participants and concluding with a smile: “You never know”:
