Panathinaikos completes major move by landing Sylvain Francisco

Panathinaikos have landed Sylvain Francisco in one of the biggest moves of the EuroLeague offseason.

The signing completes the final piece of Panathinaikos’ offseason business. The deal is reportedly worth €11.7 million, including both Francisco’s contract and the buyout, making it one of the most significant investments of the summer.

The 27-year-old French guard had been Obradovic’s priority from the very beginning of Panathinaikos’ search for a new floor general. Financial issues at ASVEL Villeurbanne ultimately proved decisive, as the French club was unable to sustain Francisco’s lucrative contract, opening the door for Panathinaikos to move quickly and secure his signature.

Francisco arrives after an outstanding season with Zalgiris Kaunas, where he established himself as one of the EuroLeague’s elite guards. He averaged 15.4 points, 4.5 assists, 2.6 rebounds and a 16.3 PIR, showcasing his ability to create for teammates while consistently producing as a scorer.
