SASA OZMO

I started putting a basketball through the hoop at the age of two and never really stopped. In the part of Belgrade where I grew up, it's hard to walk for five minutes without coming across an outdoor court. I grew up idolizing Dejan Bodiroga and lost sleep watching Peja Stojaković. I loved deep three-pointers long before they became fashionable. At least once a year, I revisit the highlights of Yugoslavia vs. USA and Yugoslavia vs. Argentina from the 2002 FIBA World Championship. I've been covering basketball for more than twenty years. Pionir Hall and Belgrade Arena are my second home, but my reporting has also taken me to arenas across Europe. I have a soft spot for a good feature story and long conversations about basketball. Over the course of my career, I've interviewed Bogdan Bogdanović, Steve Kerr, Nikola Jokić, Vasilije Micić, Dejan Milojević, Donovan Mitchell, Ramūnas Šiškauskas and many others. Svetislav Pešić once name-dropped me during a press conference. 😀 One dream interview still remains: a long sit-down conversation with Dirk Nowitzki.
