Six seven. Yeah, right. You’ve surely heard it, mainly from very young kids who are well-versed in the internet and the inside jokes of social media, which have now broken through into the real world, beyond the digital realm.

This nonsense intelligent and original phrase has truly flooded the internet, and particularly Tik Tok, with kids, and even full-grown adults, masterfully moving their hands up and down and shouting with great courage and mania “siiiix seveeeen.”

And the most extreme part is… it has absolutely no meaning! Really, it means… ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Magic, right? Right, we’ll answer that for you. Oh, and something even more extreme?

The fact that 6-7 has slowly been integrated into basketball culture. And the reason is simple, but also… ominous, dark. Quite simply, in most basketball games, it’s very likely that at least one of the two teams will reach 67 points at some point.

It’s a gift, in other words, to the youngsters, and to aspiring six-seveners everywhere. If you go to a game, especially in the U.S.A., and see the frenzy that erupts when a team reaches the auspicious score of 67 points, then you will lose all faith in humanity your chest will swell with pride and you will envision a better tomorrow!

Oh, and the best part? This meme took off thanks to a young man who — completely unsuspecting at the time — shouted it out of joy at a basketball game. If only he knew…
